The Resonatory Vibrator

Optimize tonal energy and bone conduction. Move the labor of volume from throat to bone.

The Insight

Speaking "from the throat" is mechanically inefficient and causes fatigue. Bone (skull and teeth) conducts sound waves better than soft tissue. Forward resonance uses the "Mask" (facial bones) as a natural amplifier.

The Benefit

  • The "Speaker's Ring": Amplifies 2000-3000 Hz frequencies to cut through noise.
  • Vocal Health: Shifts load from vocal folds to hard structures.
  • Authority: Creates a richer, more "grounded" tone.

Exercise: The "Y-Buzz"

Resonance Drill

The Drill Protocol

  1. Posture: Alert "call" posture.
  2. Sound: Sustain consonant /y/ (as in "Yes"). Sound like a buzzy "Yeeee".
  3. Placement: Direct vibration to the Alveolar Ridge (gum ridge behind upper teeth).
  4. Check: Feel a literal tickle on the teeth or nose.
Goal: Visualize the heat map. The sound should NOT be in the throat (red zone), but in the mask (green zone).
Vocal Resonance: Correct Mask Placement vs Incorrect Throat Placement
Fig 1. Correct resonance stays in the "Mask" (green), avoiding the "Throat" (red).
